Payecom Integration

Before you can start accepting credit card payments online using Payecom, you need to connect your website or shopping cart to your secure Payecom payment gateway. This process is called 'integration' and thankfully with Payecom its easier than you may think.

The integration process can be broken up into two areas. Sending and Receiving. The sending process deals with ensuring your website or shopping cart sends the right data to your Payecom payment page so it is displayed correctly for your customer. The Receiving process simply gives you the choice on where you want your customer to be returned to and whether you want to make use of returned values.

Sending Customers To Make Payment
Payecom will supply you with a unique coms URL to your secure Payecom payment page. This is the URL your website or shopping cart will send your customer to in order to complete the payment process. You need to ensure each of the following parameters are sent with values to your Payecom system, they are:
  1. ord = A unique order number
  2. for = What the customer is buying or the merchants official name
  3. amt = The amount the customer is paying
  4. ret = A return URL (may be replaced with hard coded URL on your Receipt page upon request)

There are no varying response codes to worry about, no SSL requirements, no dedicated IP address for your site, no complex server programs to install etc. Everything is taken care of for you by Payecom.

Receiving Customers Back from Making Payment
Once the customer has made payment on your secure Payecom payment page they are taken to a Payecom Receipt page where they can print out the details of their payment authorisation for their records. The customer is then returned to you. You will need to tell Payecom where you would like your customers to be returned to, here are the choices:

  1. When using a Shopping Cart - the cart will provide the return URL itself automatically, which needs to be sent as the value for the ret parameter. This means Payecom will return your customers to your shopping cart and the cart will recognise your customer and close off the order.
    or
  2. Website Forms, "Buy Now Button" and all else - you have two choices here:
    1. Customer is directly returned to your website by a simple direct link where you would not make use of any returned values
      or
    2. Create a "Thank You" website page and make use of the returned values being sent back with the customer. This "Thank You" page needs to be a php, asp or similar format to receive data sent by the POST method from the Receipt page. The values returned are the date of payment authorisation dte, ord, for and amt. Note, the date is generated by Payecom and records the exact time and date of when your customer gives you authorisation to charge their credit card.

Working HTML Code Example
In the below code HTML example we are simulating a website or shopping cart which has assigned values to the required parameters. You can copy this code into a webpage of your own and practice integration live. As long as the "form action URL" stays the same it will function exactly the same as any real Payecom account.
Note, in this demo example the THAWTE SSL protection is NOT enabed.

<form action="http://payecom.com.au/demo/01/01.php" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="ord" value="1009" border="0">
<input type="hidden" name="for" value="Digital Camera" border="0">
<input type="hidden" name="amt" value="$399.00" border="0">
<input type="hidden" name="ret" value="http://payecom.com.au/demook.php"border="0">
<input type="submit" name="" value="Make Payment Now" border="0">
</form>

And clicking on the following "Make Payment Now" button will show you exactly how Payecom handles the above code. Feel free to go ahead and make a "simulated payment" to experience the real customer-side process in operation.

Shopping Cart Integration
Payecom creates a secure account for each and every merchant. Subsequently, Payecom payment modules for shopping carts have to be individually coded to communicate to your unique secure coms URL. While the responsibility for integration is with the customer, who will hopefully enjoy help from their chosen shopping cart software developer, Payecom does provide free support and in most cases we will schedule in integration work for you free of charge if you are experiencing problems.

For those with either OSCommerce or Zen Cart shopping carts, Payecom will perform integration work free of charge as part of our standard service.
